About the Blog

Dear Students and faculty Members, dear guests from the sister colleges,

It is our great privilege to welcome you to Finland! We are happy that you are participating to this event organized By the Norddiakonia Network. The seminar is coordinated by the Diaconia

University of Applied Sciences (Diak) in Finland. This intensive course serves as a platform for several kinds of target groups. We invite health and social science students both from bachelors and masters programmes, as well as teachers and researchers to join. The event fulfils the requirements of Master’s Degree programme

in Health promotion in Finland and is obligatory part for SYTE-group (2 ECTS of the unit Promotion of mental health in society). After participating to this event the participants will be able to:

 

  • Structure and interpret international, national and cultural perspectives on mental health, concepts requiring specialist competences, good practices and anticipatory information concerning the status of mental health and wellbeing. The special focus will be in the homeless and underprivileged groups.
  • Interpret and analyze mental health disturbances as public health problems.
  • Analyze characteristics of professional collaborative relationships
  • Critically apply information concerning the wellbeing of the general public to research and development activities and strategic decisions
  • Develop and renew individually-oriented, group-oriented and family-oriented methods of help and guidance.
