  1. Blog text about DIAK Intensive Course 23th and 24th April

I took part Diakonia school of Applied Sciences intensive course 23th and 24th of April. Course was very interesting and I learned a lot. On Saturday we started the course. First the band played some music and then we had some coffee. Coffee was good. After that Mr. Sakari Kainulainen told us about the "Poverty in Welfare state". Then we had round table conversation about "Current challenges of the mental health and rehabilitation model". Afternoon I wisited Addiction Treatment Services in Alppikatu. I learned a lot about drug users and thei treatment. On Sunday Mr. Ikali Karvinen told us about Undocumented Migration and life without rights in welfare state. That was very interesting. Then we did some group work.

I think that this kind of events are good for studying. It is very interesting to meet students from other Nordic countries. I hope that there will be more International Courses because international atmosphere is good for students. In my opinion Mr. Kainulainen was most interesting. I was surprised when he said that 20% of people has or have had mental problems. And that women have more depression than men.
